Our Philosophy

A custom home is one of the largest investments a family will ever make, and it deserves to be done right from the first stake in the ground. We plan carefully, sweat the small details and hold every trade on site to the same standard we hold ourselves. The result is a home that is beautiful on move-in day and performs just as well decades later. Choose a builder who treats your home like their own.

Our People

WAYNE, FOUNDER

Wayne began his career as a carpenter in 1975 and founded the company four years later. Over five decades he has grown from tradesman to general contractor and licensed real estate broker, and he has twice served as president of the Home Builders Association of Central Missouri. Deeply rooted in Jefferson City and Wardsville, Wayne stays active in local events and fundraisers, and his hands-on approach still sets the standard on every Bernskoetter job site.

BRICE, MANAGING MEMBER

Brice joined the company full-time in 2009 after earning a BSBA in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Missouri, and became co-owner in 2017. A licensed real estate broker and Realtor, he led Bernskoetter Construction’s certification as a Holmes Approved Homes builder and has served as president of the Home Builders Association of Central Missouri. Brice is also a proud U.S. Navy veteran of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Our History

In 1975, Wayne Bernskoetter began his career as a carpenter for his father-in-law, Marcellus Markway. Four years later, Wayne and his wife Donna founded Wayne Bernskoetter Construction to provide for their growing family, with a simple goal: build homes on honesty, hard work and quality craftsmanship. In 1984, Wayne became the charter president of the Home Builders Association of Central Missouri, and he led the association again nearly a decade later. Their son Brice joined the company full-time in 2009 after earning his degree in finance and real estate at the University of Missouri, and in 2017 father and son formed Bernskoetter Construction as co-owners. Today they continue to build custom and luxury homes that stand among the finest in Missouri.
